Speaks"

“Newtown,  Yourtown,  Mytown”

Eyes big and bright and filled with wonder, tiny hands, huge hugs, hearts filled with love.

Curiosity sprinkled from head to toe so much to learn so much to know.

Sweet, sweet  innocence and sleepy eyes, more love for them than stars in the skies.  He closes

his eyes and what dreams has he-to explore within who he will grow up to be.

The alarm clock sounds, they are rushed from their beds, Moms have to go to work,

the babies

must be fed.   Some fathers, yet not husbands, separated by more than miles.  Thoughts of you crosses their little minds, they haven’t seen you in a while.

The world refuses to protect them, yet they don’t understand.  That their lives will be taken by the gun in his hand.  That their dreams will be shattered at the horrifying sound, that will haunt the survivors forever, won’t you lay your guns down?

As he sat in the church, held his head down to pray, a bullet from a gun, he won’t see New Years Day.  As she sat in her home just reading a book, she was killed instantly by one bullet, that’s all

it took.

He was on his way home with skittles in his hands, sad thing is he never made it, he was shot by a man.  On the side of his car at the convenience store.  He was listening to his music that he won’t hear anymore.  Just having fun with his friends, just being a child, but a man with a gun took away his smile.

Stepping high with her bright smile on inauguration day, but a bullet from a gun took this

beautiful, honor student away.  And the irony of it all, through my grief and disbelief, I heard in her earlier years she crusaded for peace.  Won’t you lay your guns down?

Too much death and devastation, too much sorrow and grief, won’t  you lay your guns down, so this sorrow can cease.  Be a part of the world that loves our children so, that you will fight to protect them, instead of not letting your guns go.  Won’t you lay your guns down,  so this violence will cease.  Protect our innocent children, so they can  live, instead of “rest in peace.”

It’s too much to see, It’s too much to bare!  I’m starting to wonder, do we really care?

I don’t want to hear it, I don’t understand, that you value your guns over the life of a human.

There is no justification, is your freedom so jeapordized, that your love for the second

amendment, is more valuable than lives?

There’s an evil spirit lurking from the bullets of a gun, doesn’t matter how many it holds, it only takes one.   To kill young innocent children, sisters, mothers, fathers and brothers too.  Though

you say your gun is for protection, then what’s left for God to do?

WELCOME TO

MY WORLD

I'm so glad you're here!  This is where you will find all my loves and passions in the form of my books!  Being the private person that I am, even those who know me will be unfamiliar with the words, songs, poems upon the lines of these pages.  In my book-

"God Knows My Name," I give

you my honesty and integrity of life's lessons.  Totally open expressions of experiences and life's complexities of family, love, loss and forgiveness.  Life has shown itself to me as complex and complicated, yet I refuse to live a complicated life.  I savor simplicity because I am convinced that everything doesn't have to be complex or complicated.  I want clarity beyond the shadow of a doubt.  Both books, "When My Heart Speaks," a book of songs, and poetry, though totally different, are intended to be a light on the path of your journey. It is my desire that you feel something, learn something and become better equipped along your journey.  Look around, make yourself comfortable and by all means, let me hear from you!

Take care and be blessed!!

For the "romantic" in you!

          "Day or Night"

Sometimes at night, when I look up at the magnificence of God in the sky, stars scattered across

the darkness, I wonder.  Could it be, that by some chance, at that very moment, you are looking

at this too?  Though miles apart, could we be yet so connected?  Do you wish upon a star for me

to be where you are?  I do, I wish for you.  My love, I miss us!  Don’t you miss me too?

If  it were not for this full moon that sits upon my window sill, I wouldn’t be feeling this way.

I wouldn’t feel compelled to say, I love you more than you’ll ever know!  What good is this to

say when you’re not near…you should be here.

I’m sure you’ll never understand that you were a rare occurrence in my life.  I live my life very

cautiously.  You and only you, were invited across my threshold, in my heart, my love and into

my world.   You came in and made me feel I was born to be your girl.

Often the memories we shared comes in and sit in a cozy spot of my mind, spending time,

refusing to go.  I close my eyes and visualize how you held me so close when we danced.

I’ve never been so romanced, my heart so willing to take a chance.  Even though we’re far apart,

I have no regrets, better yet, I’ll cherish you for two lifetimes-the moment I made you mine and

I became unapollogetically, totally yours.  Safe inside your love, we made the world go away.

Yet, you didn’t stay.  Why are theses thoughts and memories clinging to me so?  I don’t know.

You see it doesn’t matter if it’s dark or light, day or night, you are always on my mind!  I

treasure each moment of our once in a lifetime love.  I guess sometimes forever doesn’t mean

two people stay together, but that the love shared is imprinted on a page that never fades like

the indelible mark you left here in my heart.  It doesn’t matter what doors life leads you through.

For as long as I live there will be someone, somewhere loving you.

Well, my love, daylight is dawning but heed this warning.  Life can misguide you with foolish

pride.  Just remember, I know and love the man you are, that’s what keeps me wishing upon a

star.  I miss us!  Don’t you miss me too?
